Early Entry Process
In accordance with KRS 158.031(6), which states that a student must be five years old on or before August 1 to attend kindergarten, Taylor County School District has established criteria for an early entry process. A student who turns five years old between August 2 and September 30 may be eligible for early entry, provided the student meets the criteria established by the Taylor County Board of Education.
To begin the process the guardian must:
· Petition/apply for Early Enrollment to Kindergarten by May 1st of the current year (forms can be picked up at the School Counselor's office at Taylor County Primary Center)
There are more requirements, but we will provide those when they apply.
If you have questions about further requirements, please contact the TCPC School Counselor, Andrea Clark, at 270.465.0449.
If your child is currently enrolled at Taylor County Primary Center as a preschool student, then you will not need to attend Kindergarten Registration, as those students will automatically roll over to kindergarten. All other students must enroll.
If you have a 1st or 2nd grade student who will be new to Taylor County School District for the 2024-25 school year you may also call for an appointment to enroll.
